The Executive Yuan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) aims to promote the Excellent Quality of Public Toilet Policy , and to undertake environmental cleanliness ＆ upkeep inspections. In order to accomplish these tasks, this project implemented enhancement of both quantity and quality of public restrooms in night markets, and assisted in analyzing examples of integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) into public restrooms. This project also investigated public restroom hygiene management methods, including assisting in analyzing public restroom fee systems, smart management for public restrooms, and collecting foreign and domestic restroom management practices and trends. The project then summarized the annual implementation results to serve as a reference for the EPA. In addition, in order to press forward with the public restroom adoption project, the project planned integration with the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs) and enhanced possibilities for adoption of restrooms by businesses. The project also maintains operations of the adoption platform and adds timely updates. A total of 1,320 restrooms were inspected, and county and municipality public restroom maintenance conditions were followed up on. Up-to-date reports are uploaded to the Ecolife website. In addition to the management side, policy communications and marketing have also been strengthened with the public. The project has proactively gone to campuses and implemented seed teacher trainings to promote the Superior Toileting Culture Curriculum . The project has also held restroom evaluation events for the public, which allow the public to get real experiences, give real evaluations, and get involved in restroom issues together. By publishing educational materials and having the Public Restroom Environment Tidiness and Hygiene Inspection Checklist translated, the project has strengthened communications and bilingualism. On-site inspections and evaluation meetings have been done for all 22 counties and municipalities, to understand the hygiene implementation status in the counties and municipalities. Finally, relevant implementation policies and promotion methods have been drafted, to advance project implementation efficiency.
